Daily Update: How easily I forget.

With all the TV viewing I did this weekend, I totally forgot that I was up way too Early on Saturday and worked nearly 8 hours. I then took a nap and promptly forgot all about that. We had a database migration and it was a lot of work, lots of testing, and all went as well as could be expected. I’m up this morning expecting something to fall out from the migration, but I’m also hopeful that all went well and we’re in good shape. Nothing so far, but the day is still young.

I didn’t write much this weekend. I took a fiction break and watched a lot of television. Well, not too many actual TV shows, but I did watch a couple movies, a few episodes of Mythbusters, and a few episodes of The Twilight Zone. I also watched the first couple episodes of Star Blazers. I started a few movies and just couldn’t get into any of them after about 10 minutes.

Why?

I was antsy to write. I wanted to just sit and bang out words all day long. Why didn’t I? I needed a break. I’ve been going hard and fast for a long time and even though I found myself twitch and eager to jump in and crank out some words, I need to step back for a couple of days and just take it easy. Recharge the batteries. Have some down time. Spend some time with the family.

I did all that and I’m ready to jump back in with both feet and get some more words knocked out this week. I’ve had two days to let a couple scenes germinate in my little brain and I’m ready to pump out those words like it’s nobody’s business. Pending no serious distractions this week, I’ll have another epic word count week. I’m primed and ready to go.

One of the things that have gotten my brain even more fired up: working out. My favorite daughter needs to do conditioning to get ready for volleyball tryouts. She also needs to get her mile run down under 8 minutes. We’ve been going and working out and it feels great. Time on the treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike then some light weight training (well, like for her) and it feels really good. I never realized how quick my kid is. That makes me sad. I used to be fast. But I’m happy for her.

We’ll be doing workouts until it’s tryout time and hopefully I’ll continue on ever after she’s back to her Volleyball. It’s going to be another long year.

I was going to post about those NOTW stickers I see everywhere. I read them as NOT NOW! Which is more appropriate for some. I still don’t get the Not Of This World (Is Jesus an ancient alien?) but I decided I didn’t want to go on a rant about religion or how I feel that most non-denominational ‘churches’ are really just businesses that bring you entertainment for money. Like I said, don’t want to get into religion or politics on this blog. Those are rants left elsewhere. 🙂

I will, however, eventually get to that post about ducks and start posting daily duck pics. You’d laugh if you saw the number of pictures I have.

Until Tomorrow!

WOO WOO!
