Sunday Update
Hey Gang.
I’ve spent a good chunk of the past couple of weeks doing non-writerly work. Form cleaning up all my print books and ebooks, to scheduling all work I have already completed. As well as preparing some ebooks to go wide.
It’s been quite an effort. One that, many may ask, is it worth the effort to do all of this?
I’ve answered this question before and this isn’t something I expect to get rich doing. Would I love for one of my books/series to be a break out hit and make me a lot of money? Of Course! I’d like nothing better.
Sitting here, putting 9 of my books up on Draft2Digital, Barnes and Nobel, and Kobo, I can’t help but wonder, why am I going through all of this. I’m thinking what a pain the a couple of these sites are to get my books uploaded and do all the configuration. It’s taken me a few hours over a couple of days.
It’s nothing but time. What else am I going to do? Watch Llamagedon (which I did and it’s hilarious). In fact, I had it going while doing the uploads.
What I’m saying, is if I don’t give this a shot, I’ll never know if it was worth it financially. What I do know, is that if I find even one more reader on each platform, it was worth all that time. I don’t claim to be the best writer, but I’m having fun at what I’m doing and hopefully, others are having fun reading my books as well.
So far this month, I’ve given away 70 books, and sold 7. Given that I’ve had months, as I’ve mentioned before, where I gave away nearly 700 copies and sold 2, I’ll take this month as a far better month.
Looking at this month, I’m not 100% sure I’ll make my $100 in 6 months goal. We’re sitting at $81.66. This is by far one of my better years. I’m excited for the trend. I’ve made more than 15% of my lifetime earnings in this year alone. It’s all thanks to readers like you.
One thing I’ll be doing toward the end of this year is releasing V&A Shipping book 3. I’ll be having a huge sale on all the books in that universe. I’ll also be rebranding the series to V&A Universe. Each series in that Universe will be in the correct reading order. I’ve been giving this a lot of thought, and I think this will help readers realize which book comes next in the series.
I realize this is a lot of talk, but behind the scenes, there’s been a lot of activity. I know there are so many authors out there and it warms my heart to know you found me, follow along with this story, and support what I’m doing. It means the world to me. Hopefully this story only gets more interesting from here.
I’m off to write some words in Jack Kane 3.
Until Next Time!
Stay Awesome! (and watch Llamagedon)
