I’m gearing up for some major reading this year, and I’m buying or digging out a number of books, collections, and short story collections. One of the ones I was looking for was all the Tarzan novels and as long as I was looking for that, I figured I’d find all the John Carter of Mars books. So I hopped onto Amazon and started looking up collections of Edgar Rice Burroughs and saw a lot, but didn’t buy any outright (yet) and I kept digging and digging to see what I could find as I wanted a complete collection of his works, if possible.
Then I discovered that I’d already bough a larger collection of his works. Ah well, this happens. I’d read 2 or 3 of the Tarzan book way back in high school, but much like Conan stories, it’s high time I revisited these works. 2022 will be interesting once I get started.
I was going to tell a little story today, but since I’m a complete goofball, I had forgotten to upload ASH2: Flight. Yes, yes, the summer got away from me and though I meant for this book to release tomorrow, I needed to get it uploaded and Amazon wouldn’t let me do a pre-order for a short time and, surprise! It went live sometime last night.
That said, I’m excited to report that people noticed as I’ve already sold 2 copies and someone also picked up ASH1: Escape. This is totally unexpected. I mean, yeah, I’ve been hopeful that people would organically discover that I have new books appear, but so far, I’ve had to push and push and push to get one or two sales.
That said, no, I’m not ready to start advertising yet. I want to have more book under my belt and keep the flow going before I do that. I will, eventually, begin to advertise, but I don’t feel right now.
This is a great time to point out the milestone we’ve hit here. This book marks the half-way mark of the story arc we’re in. Confused? Yeah, me too.
We have 2 V&A Shipping books, 2 GRPC books, and now 2 ASH books. That’s 6 books in this entire storyline that will move into a military sci-fi series. All of these 4 series will have 4 books. I’m still thinking about how I need to alert readers that all these books tie together.
My initial plan is to put the 1st chapter of the next book to read at the end of each book. This will give a little bonus content as well as pointing the reader in the right direction. Yes, a person could read each series individually before moving on to the next series. There may be minor spoilers.
I feel I’m rambling, because this isn’t the post I intended to write today. This was supposed to be tomorrow’s post. If you made it this far, check out the latest. I started re-reading it and had to stop myself…4 chapters in LoL. This book is fun and I feel my writing is getting better with each book. Please, tell me if I’m wrong.
Today is the day! GRPC2 drops. The madness begins. I’m nervous. I’m excited. I feel like throwing up. I’m a mixed bag of emotion.
At the same time, I know I’m back at the starting line on this journey. Yes, I’ve other books out there. I get that. I don’t have a built in fan base that’s grown over the years. Many people have disappeared or forgotten all about little old me. So, I’ve set my expectations low. Quite low. If I sell one book, I’ll be amazed. I honestly will. This isn’t my first time on this roller coaster.
But this time, things will be different. I’m doing all I can to make sure everything continues to move forward. I’m reading, researching, and expanding my base. Right now, that’s all I can do. Put out a book, get the next one ready for release. Keep the machine well-greased, and put content out.
That’s what I’m doing.
Here is the link to the new book: https://smile.amazon.com/Villain-Giant-Robot-Planetary-Competition-ebook/dp/B093ZLVVSP
The links are on the main page of the blog, in the show notes of the video, in this show notes of the audio. I’m going to post on all my social media. I’m not going to be spammy about it, but going to get word out as best I can.
I’m off to go write up a NewsLetter and let everyone signed up there know there’s a new book out.
Until Next Time!
