Rick and Morty.
I’m getting caught up with Rick and Morty today. Honestly, I love how weird this show is. If you need a master-class on weird story telling, alternate realities, nihilism, and other such oddities, this show is all in.
I also practiced some bass today. Felt great to loosen up the old fingers.
Oh, and while in Florida, my nephew showed me how to solve the Rubik’s Cube. I’d know long ago, relearned recently, and now I know once again. I’ll be solving it daily as it’s a good 5 minute (or less) mental exercise.
Started the day getting up WAY too early, helping My Favorite Daughter make cookies for an event she was headed to. Her and Hijo weren’t able to get them all done last night. Took her to the event while he finished making more cookies, then took him, then the Mrs and I took the truck and MFD’s car so Hijo could go to work at Sea World from the event. We visited a couple of Animal Shelters to begin looking for a new baby to bring home.
All in all, a rather full day.
Oh, and I did get the shark in the video. I’ll have to get that posted. 🙂
Yes, it’s late again.
Sitting at the computer and typing up a blog post, albeit late, feels strange this evening. No, I’m not back on schedule yet. I haven’t found my rhythm. I know I’ve much to do in order to get back on track with everything I want to do.
Yes, I had planned this evening to do just that. I was going to practice some bass, exercise, write, record a 5-a-day-with-Jay, write up this blog post. If you’re seeing where I’m going with this…well, none of that happens.
What did happen, I made dinner (i.e. went to Taco Bell), made some popcorn, and My Favorite Daughter came over with the poppies. The Mrs, MFD, and I got caught up with Big Brother. Relaxed. Took it easy. It wasn’t a hard day at work, but it still felt good to unwind after such an active vacation.
Tomorrow may be more relaxing. We shall see. Small plans. Nothing major.
For now, I’m off to bed.
Until Next Time!
Stay Awesome!
And home once more…
Last big vacation of the year is complete. Regular blogging resumes tomorrow and perhaps we will restart 5 a Day With Jay.
No shark teeth

We didn’t make it to Shark Tooth Beach. Got some shopping done, had some pizza, and traveled back to Jacksonville. Tomorrow we get.on a plane and head back home.
CRABS!

While the kids were playing with the seagulls, I was finding a wide variety of hermit crabs. We found about a dozen and released them back into the canal where we found them.
Tomorrow we might go to “shark tooth” beach where I’m told you can easily find shark teeth, both modern and fossilized up to Megalodon teeth. Excited about the possibilites.
Beach day!

I’ve been to a lot of beaches in my life. This is the first beach where there are nearly as many shells as there is sand. If you dig a little bit, you’ll find even more shells. Guess this is why the walls of the St. Augustine firt have blocks made from sand and shells.
Oh, and we found a couple tiny shark teeth. Neat. 🙂
St. Augustine.

Had a great time wandering around St. Augustine today. So much history in one spot. We even found the Mrs’s family name on one of the houses. So very cool.
SPOONS!

A camping game I learned long ago, called spoons, is an absolute blast. Tonight, with 13 people playing, we played elimination spoons starting with 2 decks. One day soon I will post the rules. It’s easy to learn and so much fun.
Forth and back and forth again

There is a lot of green between everything in this part of the country. I grew up in the backwoods of Minnesota, but even this is strange. Still having a great time. 🙂
So relaxing.

Florida has been amazing so far. Currently in Georgia visiting more relatives. We will be going back and forth all week.
