Whew…

I’ve made it to the end of three weeks of vacations. I’m exhausted. We packed everything we could imagine into the past three weeks that I feel if we did one more thing, I’d fall flat on the floor.

5 a day with Jay will resume tomorrow. Writing will resume tomorrow. Life will get back to normal and I will have a very long post talking about all that transpired.

Zoooooooo….and Happy 4th of July

Saw lots of animals at the zoo today. Now, we are off to watch fireworks.

And I thought yesterday was a long day.

Yesterday was a driving day. It was a long, tiring day. Today I woke up, feeling better (more news on that another day) but wow. We drove down to Puerto Nuevo. Had a wonderful meal. Came back. Did a few things here. Then my brother and I hit the town. Yeah, we are both fat and old. Three beers and a dinner later and we were ready to catch an Uber/Lyft home. Long gone are the heydays.

It has been a very long few weeks. I’m not in my twenties, or thirties, or forties any longer. I can’t wait to get back to work and get back on a schedule. Family is awesome, no doubt about that. But I wasn’t planning well for such a lengthy time away from my regular life. Though I love them all, and my friends, can’t wait to get back to normal.

Driving Day

Today was a driving day. Back to San Diego from Sedona. So much happened today. I hope to share it with you all very soon.

Castle in the sky

We visited many sites today. One being Montezuma’s Castle.

The Canyon was Grand

This was the first time we went to the Grand Canyon at sunset and it was fantastic!

Sedona.

Due to fires and bad internet, having trouble getting online to post any pictures.

There is a fire in the area that has burned 62000 acres and many trails and attractions in Sedona are closed. Tomorrow we are heading to the Grand Canyon so hopefully I can post from there.

We’re on…the road…to Sedona. We certainly do get around!

NOT MY PICTURE (https://www.visitarizona.com/places/cities/sedona/)

Tomorrow morning we’re going to get up early and head to Sedona. We’re going to meet my brother and his family there. We’ll see the Grand Canyon, tour the city, and head home Friday. Then we’ll do a number of things around town before they pack up and head home.

I haven’t seen my brother in a few years so it’ll be very nice to catch up. Of course, I’ll post pictures for the next few days and a glut of pictures once the trip is done.

I warned you I was taking a few day off, didn’t I? But guess what…I’m not leaving you in a lurch. Escape, Almost-Super Heroes book 1, will drop on Wednesday! You can preorder now.

I’m off to go do some packing.

Until Next Time!

Stay Awesome!

You want pictures? I’ve got pictures.

Our trip to Cabo was an amazing adventure. If you follow me on Facebook, you’ll have seen many pictures the Mrs and I took. If you don’t, well, here are a bunch of pictures I took.

We stayed at Cabo Azul. An amazing resort. We spent 8 nights, 9 days there. There were two weddings and three different sets of fireworks on the beach. We did get to meet both couples, one couple in the pool, the other couple on the balcony (above) where the weddings took place. We all left on the same day and they asked if we would take a picture of them. The balcony overlooks the pool and ocean and I didn’t get a picture of that. Harrumph.

The pool was incredible. We spent nearly every late morning in the pool. relaxing and getting ready for the day.

We did find Hotel California. From the stories we heard, this is the one the song is based on. Yes, there is a mission behind it and we heard the mission bell, but we never checked in so we were allowed to leave.

We had a great 3 hour tour that took us out to the arch on the tip of Baja. Somehow we managed to pick the windiest day to do this. Thankfully, no hats were lost.

There were amazing beverages to be had everywhere we went. I never thought I’d end up in a gin joint, but sure enough, we did. We had gotten to the art district early and had a beverage before seeing all the great art.

We also ate at so many great places. Tammarindos was a farm a ways away from the hotel and the most relaxing. The most stressful was at The Office where our table and chairs were in the sand on the beach and we nearly had our toes tickled by high tide. Even so, great dinner. We walked along the beach and stopped at each location to have other beverages until it was late enough they stopped serving beverages.

For my birthday, I wanted to go to Cabo Wabo. Though the reviews are terrible, the places is a lot of fun and the food was terrific. I didn’t get to meet Sammy Hagar, but then, I never expected him to show up.

And after much food and drink, we made it back home. Another successful adventure in the books. I’d never been to Cabo before, but I’d love to go back.

Slappin’ Bones

Yes, yes, I intended to write a longer post today. Honestly.

The Mrs and I slept in and got a late start. Washed the vehicles which took way longer than expected. Then we went to a service for a friend we lost last month. I was going to log on and write up a big post, but I was invited to play dominos. Something I haven’t done since I was in the Navy. Great way to pass some time, unwind, and shoot the bull.

Perhaps tomorrow I’ll get back on track. No hurries. Hope you are having a great weekend.
