I was going to write a big post today but preparations for the big trip and getting a lot of work done at the last minute before I depart has prevented me from accomplishing that. Sorry.

I will be out of town until August 6th and time while on this vacation will be more sparse and inner net connectivity and cell reception will be sketchy at best. When I return, expect a flurry of words to spew forth from my finger tips. It will be amazing.

Upon my return I shall begin my daily duck posts. My daily writing prompt and of course resume with my daily updates. I will have a lot to say about this vacation I’m sure.

I watched the Hunger Games today. Review will follow. I also player a touch of online poker (play money, not real money). I didn’t write today. But i’m well reseted mentally and physically. I’m planning on a good surge of words next week. It won’t be nearly as a demanding week as the past three weeks have been.
I itching to write some fiction.
And post some duck pictures.
And post some writing prompts.
And….well…do more than I have these past few days.

Today was another busy busy day. Yesterday we did stuff until just after midnight. Tonight is just winding down. Well, OK, it wound down after a few hours and a couple beers into a kid’s birthday party. But it was a fun day.
I was too tired and my brain too frazzled to write earlier. I think it was a combination of the sun, the beer, and being crazy tired. The wife and my favorite daughter took a nap and I decided to play some online poker.
Yes, playing online for money is still banned, so I was playing a ‘play’ money game. 5200 buy in. Those usually get some of the more serious players. I play on poker stars as maus99 if you ever see me on there.
It was a good game tonight. Started out with 600 players. I dodged a few bullets like hold JJ and raising pre flop and three people pushed all in. That wasn’t an easy fold. I would have lost the hand. I would have won some other multi way all in action, but folded hands like 88 and 99 a few time to much bigger stacks pushing their weight around. I took several shots, doubled p here and other and hung on.
When it got down to around 30 players I was the big stack with 150,000 chips. More than 3 times the person in second place. These were the three next hands.
I got AA and raised. Three callers. Flopped a set of As and bet. One caller, fold, fold, all in, I called. Person had QJ. Board was AK2. I laughed until he hit a 10 on the river. No biggie, it was only 22,000. Next hand I had 55. Same person called my raise. Flop was 56k? The person shoved. I thought and finally called. He had 78 and hit his straight. That 44000 hurt, but I was still in first. Next had I had 77. Same person called again. Flop was 710A with two hearts. I shoved not wanting this person to draw out again. He called…again. with Q5 hearts and riveted a flush.
Sigh.
I was down to around 20000 after that. No mire big hands. Ran tight until 17th place and it was over. Ah well. It was fun while it lasted.
Tomorrow I will have a clearer head and get some writing done.

Today is friday the thirteenth. Anyone got a black cat? Maybe a ladder I can walk under?
I have never been the superstitious type. Sure I have had some unexplained moments in my life but those have only ever served to creep me.out, not make me believe more in the super natural.
Well…that’s not exactly true. There is a case with my mom that I feel I need to go into greater detail with.
But not today. There are many things to do and places to go.

I write code for a living. My idea of a good time is writing a story, watching TV, or watching a movie. I am not a physical guy.
My body still hurts from my fall last week. Thing ache that shouldn’t ache and my bones hurt. Joints are making weird popping noises. This isn’t a lot of fun.
I should get more exercise than I do and I am working on that.
With all that said, these last couple of days my personal business has been all physical. I am sore everywhere. As soon as I see some fireworks pop it’ll be bed time for Jay Bob. Holy cow am I sore and tired.
But this is it. It’s over and I can move past this little part of ny life. Things will be better for the family from here on out. This puts us in a better place and now I can get back to focusing on my writing and get back to hitting that 450000 word count goal for the year.

Has this been a great week? Oh yeah.

This morning we said good bye to the family. Last night we had another rousing game of spoons with the family. When they all packed it the Millicans arrived at the same,e time. Soon we talked, had another rousing game of spoons, and called it a night at around 3am. I was up at 6:30 to make sure we had seats by the pool and in the shade.

Then, as I said earlier, we said good bye to the family and checked out all their room, had watermelon and bagels for breakfast.  Talked for a good long while and now I am back by the pool..

Even with all the relaxation I’m itching to head home. I am good and relaxed and ready to jump back into my writing projects. So many words to write before the end of the year.

I am going to go jump in the water. It’s a hot one out there.

Hey, lock! It’s me again. I’ve been on vacation all week and I still have a couple more days to go. As word count goes I have not produced many words but I’ve read two books so far and I do intend to review both.

For now I am enjoying time by the pool! More details on this week will come once it’s over.

We were up early again this morning after a late night and rousing game of spoons. Spent time in the pool. Read more Hunger Games. Napped. Read some more. Went downtown palm springs for the street fair.

A lot has happened this week and I will make sure to post a mucho longer and more detailed post about this week. It has been long,  relaxing, and awesome!

Today we trekked out to Palm Canyon. We hiked, we sweated, we swam in the desert under the palm trees. Yes, we actually found a spot where there was a little stream dammed up to make a nice pool where the kids swam and the adults waded. We took some time to take pictures, have a picnic, and I manages to stay on my feet.

Then we watched some baseball, took naps, and we’re about to play a rousing game of spoons!

What will tomorrow bring? Pfft who knows.

Yesterday I fell pretty hard on my keister. My oh my did it hurt. I’m still sore today but at least I can walk without a limp.

The day was spent by the pool, napping, eating, and reading. Lot of sun and Hunger Games and a little bit of TV.

I have been so busy relaxing and enjoying time with the family that I don’t really have anything else to say. Tomorrow will see us off on a hike and pictures might ensue.
