Daily Update: NaNoWriMo Day 21
Let me get this out of the way first:
FELIZ NAVIDAD!
Oh, wait. I meant Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you have a wonderful day no matter where you live or if you celebrate or not. Take a moment today (and you really should every day) to be thankful.
I’m thankful for my fingers, they help me type.
I’m thankful for my legs, they help me walk
I’m thankful for my eyesight and contacts that help correct my vision.
I’m thankful for the overly full belly I’ll have later today and to the food I donated so others might have a hot meal.
I’m thankful to be gainfully employed in a job that I absolutely love when others are unemployed, underemployed, or just plain struggling day to day.
I’m thankful that my family is happy and healthy even if some of us are separated by thousands of miles. I can still get on the phone whenever I want to say ‘Hello, I love you’.
I’m thankful for my friends who are so supportive in anything I do and even if I can’t always be with them, they always make sure I’m invited whenever something is going on.
I’m thankful for the internet that has given me so much joy, laughter, support, and introduced me to hundreds of friends I would never have met.
I’m thankful that I live in a city where people complain when a little water falls from the sky or the temperatures dip into the high 30s and that’s the worst we’ll see for a long time.
I’m thankful for my wife. She gives me reason to keep going every day and knowing I have her support in all i do makes it so worthwile
I’m thankful for my favorite daughter (yes, she’s my only daughter which is why she’s my favorite). I’m happy she’s healthy, happy, and even when I’m mad at her, I’m happy just to have her around.
I’m thankful for you, the reader of this blog, subscriber to my podiobooks, reader of my fiction. I’m glad you’re here and I hope you’ll continue to come back.
I’m also thankful I’m on track with my nanowrimo novel. I think I just hit the halfway point which means the book may come in around the 70,000 word mark. I know I have some rewriting to do and there are a couple sections that are a little light that I need to beef up. Some descriptions that I skipped over. So overall it should come in around the 80k-90k mark. We’ll see how that goes.
Last night i sat down and banged out 3000 words. I’m very happy with the way the novel is progressing. I’ve done some initial set up of plot points that, when they come to fruition, will make an excellent ending to the book. These characters really do write themselves. So much fun to be back in their heads.
I’m hoping to bang out a few words before we head to the in-laws for a Thanksgiving Dinner that can’t be beat. We’ll have dinner again on Friday morning…with eggs. We’ll have another with the Millicans on Sunday. So this year I’ll get to eat my most favorite meal of all time 3 times this year. I will be fat and happy come Monday.
There are words to write, pies to bake, and food to eat. I hope you have a wonderful Holiday Weekend and if you’re not in the states, I hope you have a great weekend with your family.
Until Tomorrow!
WOO WOO!
